| it our 1pc "ultra smooth" driveshaft. Basically the CV joint isn't as harsh in transferring vibrations/noise through the driveshaft. It's also a bit different in the make up but essentially a 1 pc driveshaft is a long steel tube with 2 end (tranny yoke and differential joint). The old style driveshaft's used a U-Joint, these use a CV joint. They are smoother overall (at least the ones we have are but I'm sure the Z1 is similar from the pics I've seen). Nissan didn't do this b/c the 2 peice design IS the best for smoothness. They felt the extra power (not much) wasn't worth going with a 1pc. Also in the event of an accident where one of the joints is broken, a 2pc driveshaft is safer. -JokerF15
